Über Steel Panther
Steel Panther ist eine US-amerikanische Glam-Metal-Band aus Los Angeles, die 2000 von Ralph Saenz (Michael Starr, Gesang), Russ Parrish (Satchel, Gitarre), Travis Haley (Lexxi Foxx, Bass) und Darren Leader (Stix Zadinia, Schlagzeug) gegründet wurde und seit 2008 bei Universal Records unter Vertrag steht.
In Auftreten und Musik zitiert die Gruppe stark den Hair Metal und Sleaze Rock der 1980er Jahre. Dabei bewegen sie sich zwischen Parodie, Hommage und Verehrung. Die gelegentliche Einordnung als Fun Metal begründet sich durch die klischeehaft überzogene Attitüde sowie die ironischen Texte, die vor allem Sex, Frauen und Drogenkonsum behandeln.
