Über Cynic
Cynic (engl. für „Kyniker“) ist eine US-amerikanische Progressive Metal Band aus Florida, die im Laufe ihrer Karriere vielfältige musikalische Transformationen verarbeitet und diverse Stilkreuzungen entwickelt hat. So finden sich im Kanon ihrer Musik verschiedene Einflüsse aus Thrash Metal, Technical Death Metal, Fusion, Progressive Metal und Artrock wieder. Als Schlüsselwerk von Cynic gilt das 1993 veröffentlichte Album Focus, das vor allem durch das Wechselspiel zwischen gutturalem Gesang und einer durch Vocoder-Effekte verfremdeten Gesangsstimme auffiel.
